Conference Participants

Nóra Kovács works at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, based in Vienna, Austria.  She monitors the development of public service broadcasting in participating States, and assists the Representative on Freedom of the Media in advocating and promoting freedom of expression and free media.

She graduated from Bard College in 1997, with a focus on International Relations, being one of the approximately 40 Hungarian students to have received full academic scholarship at Bard since the change of regimes in Central and Eastern Europe.  As a Fulbright Scholar she continued her studies at New York University, where she received a Master’s degree in Public Administration. 

Prior to her current position in Vienna, she coordinated European Union funds at the Prime Minister’s Office in Hungary.  Since her return to Europe, Nora has played an active role in the Kellner Foundation, participating in the Foundation’s yearly selection of the three Hungarian students who get to study at Bard College for one academic year.
